How often are sessions?
This depends on your needs, as every client is different. For adults, I often recommend weekly individual therapy. For youth, I often recommend biweekly individual therapy, but again, it depends on you and where you are at! We can talk about this further on the free consultation call. I believe group therapy can be a great support in addition to individual session, and recommend this weekly.
Your website mainly focuses on youth and young adults. Do you see older populations?
While a majority of my experience is with youth and young adults, I do have experience with adults. My focus is primarily on youth and young adults, but I will see adults on a case-by-case basis. I do not want to waste your time or money, so if I feel I am not a good fit for your needs, I will let you know and am happy to provide referrals to other providers who may be a better fit.
What if I am not seeing progress quickly enough?
Therapy can be a long and slow process. Sometimes, people have the expectation that they will feel better after 1-2 sessions. Though you may experience some relief simply from getting things off your chest, therapy is a longer process than 1-2 sessions. Some people attend therapy for a year, while others may need longer.
If at any point it seems that we are not the right fit, I am more than happy to provide referrals to other providers who may better meet your needs. Your well-being and comfort are my top priorities. I am here to support you on your journey towards healing and growth. That may be with a different therapist, and, that is okay!
